Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-17
Plain-English summary (not legally binding): You use our website and app to scan, grade, price, and (optionally) sell sports cards. We do AI grading and help you list on eBay. We are not a replacement for PSA, BGS, or any other professional grader — our grades are opinions. If you ship cards to us so we can submit them to PSA on your behalf, we hold those cards for you under a custody arrangement. You can stop using the service whenever you want. Please read the full terms below.
1. Who we are and what this is
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and Rebellion LLC, a Kentucky limited liability company ("Rebel Cards", "we", "us", "our"), the operator of the website at rebel-cards.comand the related mobile applications (together, the "Service").
Our business address is: [OPERATOR REVIEW: insert mailing address]
You can contact us at: legal@rebel-cards.com
By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service does
The Service lets you:
- Scan sports cards using your camera or by uploading photos.
- Receive an AI-generated grade estimate for each card.
- Receive AI-generated price estimates ("comps") based on public sales data.
- List cards for sale on third-party marketplaces (currently eBay) using OAuth-scoped access you grant us.
- Optionally ship cards to us so we can submit them to PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) on your behalf and re-list the slabbed result.
- Organize your inventory into "bags" and walk through them to reconcile what you physically hold.
We add and remove features over time. We may change the Service without notice, except where a change materially reduces a paid feature you are actively using, in which case we will notify you at the email on file.
3. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if all of the following are true:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You reside in the United States or Canada (we do not currently support users in the European Union, United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions — we may geo-block traffic from unsupported regions).
- You have the legal authority to enter into a binding contract.
- You are not on any U.S. government sanctions list and you are not located in a country embargoed by the U.S. government.
4. Your account
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials secret. We authenticate via Firebase (Google sign-in or email/password); the security of your Google account is your responsibility.
- Everything that happens under your account, including listings you create and cards you submit for custody.
- Keeping the contact and billing information on your account accurate.
If you notice unauthorized access, tell us immediately at the contact email above.
5. AI grading is an opinion, not an appraisal
This is important. Read it.
Our AI grading produces a numerical opinionof a card's likely grade based on photos. It is:
- Not a professional appraisal.
- Not an authentication service.
- Not a guarantee that PSA, BGS, SGC, or any other third-party grader will return the same number.
- Not legal, tax, or investment advice.
Our price estimates ("comps") are derived from public sales data. Past sales do not predict future sales. We do not guarantee any card will sell at the estimated price, or sell at all.
You remain solely responsible for every representation you make to a buyer, grader, insurer, or tax authority. If you list a card as "Mint" because our AI said so, and a buyer disputes that grade, that's between you and the buyer.
6. PSA submissions and physical custody
If you opt in to our full-service grading workflow:
- You ship cards to our intake address.
- We log receipt, photograph the cards, and submit them to PSA via the PSA Submission API at your expense (PSA's per-card fee plus our service fee).
- We hold the cards in our possession from receipt until PSA returns the slabbed results and we either (a) list the slabbed card on your connected marketplace account, or (b) ship the slabbed card back to you, per your election.
While cards are in our custody:
- We carry insurance covering loss or damage up to [OPERATOR REVIEW: insert per-card and per-shipment insurance limits].
- Cards with declared values exceeding the per-card limit require advance written approval and may require additional insurance at your expense.
- We are not responsible for grade outcomes from PSA. PSA grades the card; we do not control the outcome.
- We are not responsible for losses or delays caused by the carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx) before we sign for the shipment.
You retain ownership of every card in our custody. We do not take title at any point. Our holding of your cards is a bailment for the limited purpose of grading and (optionally) listing.
If your account is terminated while we hold cards for you, we will ship them back to your last known address at your expense within 30 days, unless we are required by law to hold them longer.
7. Marketplace integration (eBay)
The Service can post listings to your connected eBay seller account using OAuth scopes you authorize. You acknowledge:
- eBay is the seller-of-record and contracting party with the buyer. We are a tool you use to draft and publish those listings. We are not a party to the sale, do not handle funds, do not handle returns, and do not handle disputes between you and a buyer.
- You remain responsible for complying with eBay's seller policies, listing rules, and applicable consumer-protection laws.
- We do not collect or remit sales tax. eBay handles marketplace-facilitator sales tax where required.
- If eBay suspends or revokes your seller account, we cannot restore it.
- Our access to your eBay account is scoped via OAuth and can be revoked by you at any time from eBay's settings.
We do not "scrape" eBay or any other marketplace. Every integration uses the marketplace's official API.
8. Fees, billing, and refunds
We offer paid subscription tiers (currently a free tier, a middle tier at approximately $14.99/month, and a premium tier at approximately $34.99/month). Final pricing and feature mapping are shown on our pricing page at the time of purchase.
Subscriptions auto-renew at the price in effect at renewal until you cancel. You can cancel from the in-app Settings page at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period.
We process payments via Stripe. Stripe handles your card details under its own terms; we do not store full payment card numbers.
Refunds are governed by our separate Refund Policy. In short: subscription refunds prorated within 14 days of charge; per-grade credits are non-refundable once consumed; grading-service refunds are case-by-case if we failed to deliver a grade; eBay fees are non-refundable because eBay charges them.
If a payment fails, we may suspend access to paid features until the balance is paid.
9. Content you upload and licensing
You retain ownership of the photos and metadata you upload ("Your Content"). By uploading Your Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:
- Store, process, transmit, and display Your Content as needed to operate the Service for you.
- Use anonymized and de-identified versions of Your Content to train, evaluate, and improve our grading models and pricing models. ("Anonymized" means we strip account identifiers and aggregate the data; the trained models do not memorize or output your specific photos.)
- Display Your Content in marketplace listings you create through the Service.
You can opt out of the model-training use by emailing us at the address in Section 1. Opting out does not affect normal operation of the Service for your own account.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own Your Content, or you have all rights necessary to upload it and grant the license above.
- Your Content does not infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, publicity, or other rights.
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, see our DMCA Notice for how to file a complaint.
10. Prohibited uses
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to facilitate fraud, money laundering, counterfeiting, sale of stolen goods, or any other illegal activity.
- Upload photos of cards you know or suspect to be counterfeit, altered, or trimmed without disclosing that fact in the listing.
- Misrepresent an AI-generated grade as a third-party-authenticated grade (e.g., labeling a card "PSA 10" when we have not submitted it to PSA).
- Resell, sublicense, or repackage our grading "opinions" as professional authentication.
- Scrape, crawl, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract our models, training data, or pricing data.
- Bypass rate limits, abuse the API, or use automated tools against the Service except via our public API under our published terms.
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate any user, employee, or third party.
- Use the Service to violate the terms of any third-party marketplace (eBay, etc.) we integrate with.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations without notice.
A more detailed Acceptable Use Policy sits alongside these Terms and is incorporated by reference.
11. Third-party services
The Service depends on third-party providers including, without limitation: Stripe (payments), Firebase / Google (authentication), Anthropic (AI grading and chat), Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage), eBay (marketplace), PSA (grading), Sentry (error monitoring), Deepgram (speech-to-text). We are not responsible for outages, errors, or policy changes from those providers. Your use of those providers is governed by their own terms.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
- AI GRADES WILL MATCH PSA OR ANY OTHER THIRD-PARTY GRADER.
- PRICE ESTIMATES WILL MATCH ACTUAL SALE PRICES.
- LISTINGS WILL SELL OR THAT YOU WILL MAKE A PROFIT.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) [OPERATOR REVIEW: insert floor].
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOST GOODWILL, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
The custody-related insurance limits in Section 6 are separate from and not capped by this Section 13.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or liability (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of:
- Your use of the Service.
- Your Content.
- Your sale or attempted sale of any card.
- Your violation of these Terms, applicable law, or any third party's rights.
15. Dispute resolution and arbitration
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in [OPERATOR REVIEW: insert seat of arbitration].
- You and we waive the right to a jury trial.
- You and we waive the right to participate in a class action.
- Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead of arbitration if the claim qualifies.
- You have 30 days from creating your account to opt out of arbitration by emailing us at the contact in Section 1 with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out". Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [OPERATOR REVIEW: insert governing-law state], without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. To the extent any dispute is not subject to arbitration, the state and federal courts located in [OPERATOR REVIEW: insert county and state] have exclusive jurisdiction.
17. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account from the Settings page. We can suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. On termination:
- We will retain backup copies of your data for up to 90 days, then delete it from production systems.
- You can request a data export during that 90-day window.
- Cards we hold in custody at termination will be shipped back to your last known address at your expense within 30 days, unless we are required by law to hold them longer.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 6, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and this Section 17) survive.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
19. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms, plus the Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms to any successor in interest.
- No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms do not create any rights in any third party.
